The Lay Ecclesial Ministry (LEM) program was created in response to the call of lay people to professional and committed ecclesial service. This three-year formation program prepares the aspiring lay ecclesial minister to minister n the Archdiocese of Chicago as a Director of Religious Education, a Pastoral Associate or for Hopital Care Ministry.
The Catechetical Coordinator Program is a three-year program designed to form the laity of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Joliet for ministry within the Catholic Tradition. The program serves several constituencies, including adults involved in leadership positions in the parish as Coordinators of Religious Education, Coordinators of Youth Ministry, or Coordinators of Adult Faith Formation. With the successful completion of the program, students will receive Catechetical Coordinator Certification.
Lay Leadership is a two-year program for parish volunteer ministers as well as adult Catholics looking to further their own education in the Catholic Faith. It is designed to form lay ministry volunteers in the areas of human, spiritual, academic, and pastoral formation.
The Lay Ministry Alumni Program (LMAP) provides ongoing formation, continuing education, and peer sharing for graduates of the volunteer lay minsitry program, Lay Leadership (formerly known as Called & Gifted). Launched in 2012 as a pilot project, LMAP became an official program of the Institute for Lay Formation in the summer 2014.
