Lay Ministry Alumni Program

Overview

The Lay Ministry Alumni Program (LMAP) provides ongoing formation, continuing education, and peer sharing for graduates of lay ministry formation programs, including Called & Gifted.  Launched in 2012 as a pilot project, the LMAP became an official program of the Institute for Lay Formation in the summer of 2014.

The program's inaugural formation day, “Who Do You Say that I Am?” took place in October 2012 at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake.  It was attended by 65 graduates representing 17 cohort years and over 30 parishes.  It was a time of reconnecting with classmates, renewing personal spirituality, sharing with peer ministers, and remembering the energy and camaraderie of previous formation days.  The program continues to draw many alums from all over the archdiocese.

With continued support and attendance from the alumni, the LMAP plans to hold 2 or 3 formation days each year plus a summer retreat, all featuring notable presenters.  Relevant topics will be drawn from areas of theology, ministerial skills, catechesis, and spirituality.
